Getting Our Red, White & Blue On

Starting with Memorial Day weekend and going through to Labor Day is the period loosely referred to as the Patriotic Season, honoring fallen vets – humans and dogs alike.  We not only proudly fly our flags, we wear the red, white and blue to honor lost loved ones.

It’s important to remember not only our fallen humans who gave their lives fighting for freedom and justice, but we also need to remember the dogs who lovingly and willingly stood by their sides and sacrificed their lives in order for their human soldiers to live.  (Dogs have been used in battle going as far back as the Revolution, sending them ahead to the next encampment with notes and documents.)

Wow Grooming would like to give a shout out to I Heart Dogs, a company started by Army Vets whose goal in life is to create products for humans and dogs alike, with proceeds going to train and pay for service and emotional support dogs for our injured vets returning home from war, badly in need of the love and support only a dog can provide.  

They also donate meals to shelters (and each purchase clearly details how many shelter meals each purchase is providing!).  This is a wonderful organization to support year round.
